Control · Energy · Data — for energy-intensive greenhouses

Give the crop the light
it needs. Buy that light
when it's cheapest.

Netvion is the local-first control and data platform for greenhouse LED lighting. Photoperiod, DLI and spectrum per zone. Telemetry from every driver. Energy shifted toward cheap hours — inside limits you set, never below the crop's light target.

Applications

Every crop asks something
different of the light.

Photoperiod, DLI target, spectrum, floor and ceiling are all yours to define — per zone and per growth stage. Netvion runs the light strategy you give it, which is why one system can run a short-day flowering block and a winter tomato house on the same network.

Chrysanthemum Tomato Strawberry Cannabis Roses Cut flowers Leafy greens Herbs Young plants & propagation Anthurium & pot plants Ornamentals Research & breeding …and whatever isn't on this list

What does your crop ask of the light?

Most growers recognise themselves in more than one of these.

Day length drives the crop

Photoperiod is the strategy

Flowering is triggered by day length, not intensity. Long-day holding, day extension past midnight, the flip to short-day — each block on its own clock, where one wrong night costs a whole batch.

What Netvion does: photoperiod and DLI set per zone and per stage, including lit windows that run through midnight. Schedules execute on the gateway inside the greenhouse, so a dropped connection can't change the day length — and driver-level readback confirms every fixture in the block actually went dark.

Energy drives the cost

The bill is the problem

Long lit seasons and thousands of fixtures, with lighting dominating the energy bill — while prices swing several times over inside a single day.

What Netvion does: hits the DLI target while shifting when that light is delivered toward the cheapest hours, inside a floor and ceiling you set. Closed-loop PAR dimming stops you paying for photons the sun already provided.

Tomato & vine crops · roses · leafy greens · any year-round lit crop

Complexity drives the risk

Many zones, many recipes

Dozens of zones on different recipes and growth stages at once, where uniformity matters more than peak intensity — and where a single drifting fixture is invisible until harvest.

What Netvion does: zone-level recipes assigned in one click, multi-channel set-points across the day, and driver-level telemetry that flags the one fixture drifting from its neighbours. Multi-year history proves what every zone actually received.

Not sure where you fit?

If you can write your light strategy down, Netvion can run it — whatever the crop, and whether or not it appears anywhere on this page. Tell us what you grow and we'll walk through your specific case.

Photoperiod & DLI

Day length is a crop decision.
Your controller should treat it like one.

Most lighting controllers treat the clock as a convenience — an on time and an off time. For photoperiodic crops the clock is the crop strategy. Netvion makes photoperiod a first-class setting: defined per zone, per growth stage, executed on hardware inside the greenhouse, and logged so you can prove it happened.

🕓

Photoperiod per zone, per stage

Day start and day end set independently for every zone. Long-day holding blocks and short-day flowering blocks run side by side in the same house, on the same network.

🎯

DLI target with pace tracking

Set the daily light integral the crop needs. The scheduler tracks accumulation through the day, corrects its own drift, and stops once the day's light is met.

🌗

Day extension across midnight

Lit windows that run through midnight are handled as one photoperiod, not two broken halves — so long-day holding blocks behave the way the agronomy expects.

🔒

Floor and ceiling per recipe

A crop floor and a stress ceiling are set once per recipe. Every automated adjustment — including energy optimisation — stays inside them. The photoperiod is never the variable that gets traded away.

📄

The dark period is verified, not assumed

Because Netvion reads back from the driver, you can confirm every fixture in the block actually went to zero — and see the fault the moment one didn't. Per-channel levels stay queryable across any window up to three years.

The platform

One app on one edge computer
runs the whole house

Control every light driver, run the crop's light schedule, optimise energy against live market prices, watch every sensor and driver, and surface problems before they cost yield — online or offline.

Control & scheduling
  • Manual control — set any zone or driver by hand; manual holds auto-restore to schedule
  • Scheduler — light recipes, photoperiod and DLI targets; auto-stops when the day's light is met
  • Daylight (PAR) control — closed-loop dimming that tops light up to target as the sun changes
  • Automation — sensor or condition → action rules, refereed against schedule, manual and energy
  • Fixture integration — Modbus/HLP control with per-model profiles and OEM-safe dimming ranges
Energy — the differentiator
  • Smart Energy — shifts lighting toward the cheapest electricity hours using day-ahead market prices and live grid signals
  • Always inside the recipe — same light or more, never less
  • Four grower modes — spot price, passthrough, aggregator, full imbalance
  • Photoperiod extension — opt-in per calendar, with its own bounds, when it pays
  • The split — the scheduler decides what; Smart Energy decides when
Sensing & data
  • Sensors — PAR/PPFD, temperature, humidity and VPD, per zone
  • Driver-level telemetry — per-driver channel levels, power, temperature and decoded fault codes
  • Local history — 48h fine → 1yr hourly → 3yr daily, kept on the edge
  • Export — raw data per zone and per metric, for agronomists or auditors
  • No cloud subscription required to keep your own history
Intelligence & health
  • Anomaly detection — peer power comparison across a zone flags the fixture drifting from its neighbours
  • Thermal trending — a driver running hot today is a dead driver next month
  • LED end-of-life prediction — plan replacement instead of discovering it at harvest
  • AI assistant (optional) — ask the system about your greenhouse in plain language
  • Daily health report per greenhouse, so issues surface before you notice them
Smart Energy

Most optimisers save money by dimming your crop. We don't.

Smart Energy moves when your lights run toward the cheapest hours of the day, strictly inside limits you set — and it is guaranteed to deliver the recipe's light target or more, never less.

1

Read tomorrow's prices. Each afternoon it pulls the next day's hour-by-hour electricity price from the day-ahead market. An optional live grid signal adds real-time nudges.

2

Plan the day. Each hour is compared to the day's median. Below median → boost a little; above → ease. Boosts and eases balance so the day nets out — same total light, re-timed.

3

Run it safely. It only dims an expensive hour after it has already banked that light in a cheaper one — measured on the light the fixture actually emitted.

4

Stay in the grower's box. A floor that protects morphology, a ceiling that caps bonus light, and one setting for how hard it shifts.

5

Use the setup you already have. It connects to any energy management box — aggregator, BRP or in-house — with no new infrastructure and no rewiring. Netvion is the crop-aware lighting layer on top of it, not a replacement for it.

The guarantee

The DLI target is a floor: deliver that or more, never less. If the app crashes or a command fails mid-day, the worst case is more light — never less. Same inputs produce identical commands: auditable, not a black box.

Same total light — re-timed toward cheap hours
▬ Day-ahead price ▮ Light delivered ┄ Flat recipe
ceiling cheap → boost expensive → ease ceiling floor
06h09h12h15h18h21h
Better €/mol
How much better depends on your price volatility and how wide you set the ceiling — a flat week yields little, a volatile one more. Internal validation on a volatile week put it around 10%. We'd rather model your site than quote you an average.
Any market
Day-ahead prices, real-time imbalance signals, an aggregator or BRP, or your own energy box. It sits alongside the energy setup you already have — a new market or provider is a connector, not a rewrite.

Architecture

Local-first by design,
not as a fallback

Wireless mesh from the driver up, control that runs inside the greenhouse, and integration that complements the climate computer you already have instead of replacing it.

✓

No control cabling

Every fixture is a mesh node; the network self-organises and self-heals. One gateway covers the house, with more added by site size — the decisive advantage on a retrofit.

✓

A proprietary wireless mesh

Built for steel Venlo frames, wet glass, dense canopy and high humidity — the conditions that defeat office-grade wireless. Commissioned straight from a phone, with no extra hardware to carry up the row.

✓

Keeps running when the internet doesn't

Recipes, control and history all live on site. Cloud is available for remote monitoring and multi-site management — it is never a dependency.

✓

Your data stays yours

Sensors, gateway and edge are all Netvion, so there's no protocol translation and no vendor lock. Nothing leaves your network unless you decide it does.

✓

Works with your climate computer

HLP, Modbus RTU/TCP, MQTT and REST. Netvion integrates with all leading climate computers and complements them rather than competing with them.

✓

Updated over the air

Push firmware to every node across the mesh. No ladder, no laptop at each fixture.

For fixture manufacturers

Ship the fixture that wins the deal

Dimmable is table stakes. Growers now ask for driver health, DLI tracking, energy-aware schedules and proof of the light actually delivered — and a dimmable-only fixture has none of it. Netvion is the control and data layer that goes inside your product, under your brand.

Company

Built in greenhouses.
Proven in production.

Netvion builds wireless lighting control and energy optimisation for greenhouses — hardware, firmware and software, all developed in-house in Eindhoven.

Lighting is one of the largest controllable costs in modern horticulture, and energy is getting scarcer and more volatile. We don't treat that as a controls problem. We treat it as energy-to-yield: deliver the light the crop needs, and buy it as cheaply as the market allows.

We reach growers two ways — directly, and through the grow-light manufacturers who build Netvion into their fixtures. The platform is deployed in commercial production today, running multi-greenhouse sites from a single edge computer with hundreds of LED drivers under wireless control.

Tell us what you grow.

Whatever the crop, the conversation starts the same way: what light does it need, and what is that light costing you right now?
